Weapons in Apex Legends are used to deal damage, which is admittedly very obvious. In the main game mode, the Battle Royale, all players drop from the ship without weapons. Upon landing, players must find weapons among other loot and add them to one of two weapon slots. Different rarity levels can be applied to Apex weapons by installing mods of the respected rarity level. Therefore, each weapon can go from Common (grey color) rarity all the way up to Legendary (gold color). Sometimes, these rarities are referred to as Levels 1-4. Sometimes, players may come across fully-kitted weapons. This means that the guns come with pre-installed mods of a certain rarity. However, there’s also the Heirloom (orange color) rarity, which refers to special variants of weapons with the best possible Apex Legends weapon stats that can only be found in Care Packages. These variants have a limited ammo reserve, which cannot be replenished even if you add the ammo of the same type (caliber) as the Heirloom weapon.
