The tenth season might not have introduced a bunch of changes, but there is still a lot to talk about. Apex Legends Ranked Season 10 ranking system is a bit different from what we are used to, and all of that is thanks to an increased number of RP points given to players at the end of every match. In our fresh guide, we’ll tell you all the important details about the Apex Legends Ranked, how it works, what splits are, and all the other nuances you should be aware of.
As well as most battle royales, Apex Legend has its own ranking system that includes 7 Apex Legends rank tiers, five of which have four divisions within each other, making it harder for players to climb up the ranks. Apex Predator is a bit different from other tiers; only the top 750 players from each platform can obtain it. During S10, you will have to use your RP at the start of every match. Here are all tiers and the needed number of points you need to gain to move up, as well as entry costs for all ranks:
The most popular way of losing the points is, of course, starting the match. Sounds a bit ridiculous, right? Based on your current tier, you will lose certain points at the beginning; that’s what we’ve already discussed earlier, so there is no need to go into much detail here. You are likely to lose some points if you leave and there is no Loss Forgiveness left for you. We’ll elaborate on that part later; what you must keep in mind, for now, is that you cannot rank down below your tier; you might move between divisions, but you will never drop to Bronze if you are Gold.
Now, let’s talk about earning RP. In general, there are only two ways to do that. Let’s take a look at each:
- Make it to the top 13. The golden rule here is to stay alive for as long as possible. The closer your get to the top 1, the more points you receive.
- Get as many kills and assists as you can. For all the damage and kills you’ve made, you will get RP, which can often result in an even greater amount of points than just surviving till the end.
Now that you have to pay an “entrance fee” each time you decide to play Ranked, you will have to concentrate even more on making these kills and staying alive for as long as possible, since otherwise, you will just waste points without getting anything from the game.
LF is what you can get for leaving the game too early. However, you are entitled to only three abandons. After you reach the limit, every abandoned match will result in a points loss. And keep in mind that points for the match are never given to players who left the game, even if it was not their fault.
Staying till the very last minute is a key to securing the points and ensuring you get them. You should not leave the game when your teammates can still revive you. If you do that, you will still not have access to any other game for the next ten minutes. In season 10, you can reconnect to the matches you’ve left, so if you left the game due to a failed internet connection, you’d be able to come back. Only if 150 seconds pass after a member of your team picked up the banner and hasn’t respawned you, or if just the banner timer runs out, you will be able to leave with the points loss. Otherwise, your RP will be zeroed out.
Last but not least. If one of the team members abandons the match before the dropship starts, the rest will be allowed to leave the ongoing match without any penalties and RP loss (including the points used for joining the match).
These are probably among the most confusing things about the current Apex ranking system. Every season in AL contains two splits, each of which features another map. The map changes in the middle of the season, and at the same time, the ranks of all players are soft reset by 1.5 tiers.
In S10, the first split took place on World’s Edge. The second split, the release date of which is September 21, will take players to Kings Canyon.
It always depends on your current stats and skill. To go from Bronze to Apex Predator, you will need to spend at least a few hundred hours playing the game. This means that to succeed in the current season, you will have to spend at least 2-3 hours in the game on a daily basis. The fastest rank-up was performed by a streamer called iiTzTimmy, who managed to do this in just 54 hours. He didn’t sleep and almost didn’t eat, which is not the best thing to do if you want to stay healthy, so it’s better to choose a different way to rank up fast.
To improve your Apex Legends rank, you’ll need to go slow and steady. It might be hard for you, but there is no other way to get to a better rank without polishing your skills at a calm pace. Of course, you probably want to get everything right now, but you have to be ready for the fact that it might take a while.
