Considering the history of launches and that the current S10 is on till 2 November, it’s safe to suggest we enter new content on that day. Of course, if nothing such as delays because of development issues comes in its way.
This assumption is based on Battle Pass timer and the fact that Respawn has released Apex Legends teaser about what’s coming next and a launch trailer. Speaking of novation, in the latest Stories from the Outlands, we’ve got a look at one character’s past that will appear in the update. So let’s dive into this part next.
Besides other familiar faces, players will once again meet the host of Arenas Ash, who some may know from the encounter in Titanfall 2. Recent Stories from the Outlands was dedicated to her and showed her story. According to it, she once was Dr. Ashleigh Reid, who had been injured badly due to certain circumstances. That became a reason for transforming her consciousness into a cyborg body that eventually took total control.
Starting from S11, she’ll become a playable character, offering us a chance to explore her internal conflict. Moreover, this Legend possesses pretty neat powers. These are Marked for Death that allows Ash to see the placement of recent deathboxes and mark foes; Phase Breach, which opens a portal; Arc Snare, an ability to drop a trap that damages the opponent who comes too close to it. You may see how some of them work in the
One of the most exciting new features is a fourth novel map - a tropical location, about which devs hint us. We know it’s called Storm Point, a deserted place with ruins and abandoned settlements, which will become a battleground for Legends. Don’t be fooled by its peaceful appearance: many dangers are waiting there, such as poisonous creatures and unexpected storms, so it seems like you won’t have time to catch your breath.
Speaking of the maps, there will be only Storm Point and World’s Edge in battle royale rotation. As for Arenas, only customized maps without BR areas in the Escape update will be there.
Creators decided to make some changes to Wattson as well, to tweak her abilities a little. From now on, her Tactical and Ultimate objects’ reliability placement is enhanced, and the size of hitbox is increased.
Moreover, we’ve got official confirmation that gamers may use a new automatic weapon - C.A.R. SMG - previously seen in Titanfall. In line with creators, it’s a flexible gun that may be equipped with heavy or light mags and be a loyal ally in any situation. We’ll see what it’s capable of when the season arrives. Furthermore, some of the weapons will have their nerfs, like in case with Eva-8, Peacekeeper, Longbow, L-Star. Debuffs are expected for G7 Scout.
Of course, some changes applied to the Apex ranking system as well. For instance, starting from Escape, the difference between killer and victim Ranked tiers will affect kill RP values, and its cap will rise to seven. Besides, Ranked arenas have gone through some alterations, too, like adding two splits and improvements to matchmaking that will search for team buddies with the same skills. But we’ll discuss it in more detail next time.
These are significant updates we are aware of for now. Now we’ll just wait patiently for more details to be disclosed and enjoy the last days of the current season.
Nothing stops you from counting the days till Escape and get better at the game simultaneously. The latter might seem especially important because all of us would like to welcome the new season with impressive Apex stats.
